TSST will Improve the maths subject knowledge of non-specialist teachers by offering school-led teacher subject specialism training opportunities. This includes non-specialist teachers who could potentially teach maths in addition to their main subject and teachers who want to retrain as maths teachers.

TSST will provide greater support to teachers wishing to return to the profession through access to subject specialism training courses.

The training will be prolonged and extensive from October to June.

Delivered thorough St Bede's Lanchester, St Anthony's Sunderland and the Cumbria Partnership.

TSST will offer a ‘blended’ learning experience:
1 initial twilight session followed by 16 Twilight sessions of high quality instruction, facilitated by outstanding maths teachers/SLEs/lead practitioners; Comprehensive E-Learning provided by the ‘Centre for Innovation in Maths Teaching’ at Plymouth University with Masters Level credits - worth £910.
